Shuttle på CEBIT 2018

In this case, June rather than May will be the source of all things new. For the first time ever, “Europe’s Business Festival for Innovation and Digitization” will not be kicking off in March. Instead, from June 11, 2018, CEBIT will again be opening its doors for five days, with the halls only being open to visitors from Tuesday. CEBIT will focus entirely on digital transformation. The pillars of the new concept are the four platforms of d!conomy, d!tec, d!talk and d!campus.

XPC Mini-PCs based on “Coffee Lake” are on the rise, a new All-in-One PC for POS applications will be making its debut, and biometric face recognition will be another focal point of the trade fair.

Shuttle, as a long-standing exhibitor, is showing its loyalty to CEBIT once again this year and looks forward to embracing the new concept that, for example, will also include various show acts for visitors in the evenings.

The world of Mini-PCs can be found in Hall 12 at Stand B87.

This year’s appearance at the trade fair will see Mini-PC models for the 8th generation of the Intel Core series (“Coffee Lake”) with 300 Intel chipsets rolled out. It all starts here with the entry-level and mid-range models SH310R4, SH370R6 and the XH310 and DH310.

Looking at the fanless highlights, the DL10J immediately stands out. It is the first model to be based on Intel Gemini Lake with HDMI 2.0. The DL10J connects to networks by means of Gigabit Ethernet, the pre-installed WLAN and for the first time even by a 3G/LTE module. The DL10J can also control up to three monitors simultaneously.

The DH02U offers a particularly high level of performance per cubic centimetre. As well as a selection of processors which are already soldered on, with a choice from Celeron to Core i7, the DH02U also boasts the necessary graphics performance in the form of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics processor. Four HDMI 2.0 ports are available to display high-resolution content in 4K quality on four monitors.

With a specific focus on vertical markets, the P20U will be introduced – a 11.6 inch All-in-One PC which is completely fanless and features a capacitive, IP54-certified front panel. The P20U is positioned as a space-saving checkout system or as an operating unit for media playback or automation.

The BR06 family now comprises three models and with biometric face recognition which means a new area of business for Shuttle.

All the solutions presented by Shuttle continue the familiar concept that has made it famous and for which it has received multiple awards around the globe – high quality standards, versatility, robustness, compactness and easy set-up.

In addition, registered retailers and partners can look forward to an exciting bonus promotion. Details of this will be announced shortly.

We look forward to enjoying interesting discussions with you at Stand B87 in Hall 12. To arrange an appointment with us in advance, feel free to contact us, depending on your particular area of business, by emailing sales(at)shuttle.eu or press(at)shuttle.eu.

SZ270R9 – Imponerende anderledes Mini-PC

The strikingly different Mini-PC: SZ270R9 with LED front panel

Elmshorn, Germany, 2017-12-13 – be different, don’t just follow the usual structured shapes and please, not just any old plain look. The Barebone with the name SZ270R9 that is presented here leaves a lasting impression. This Mini-PC clearly finds it hard to keep a low profile.

It is colourful, bright and appeals to gamers and hardware enthusiasts who, rather than wanting to blend into the background, prefer the limelight.

– RGB LEDs and CPU multiplier can be configured with software
– Space for six drives (4x HDD/SSD, 2x NVMe)

Technically identical on the inside to the SZ270R8, which was presented in the last quarter, the SZ270R9 has visual differences that are instantly apparent. It has an RGB LED front panel, which can be controlled via BIOS and management software and can be infinitely adjusted and thus adapted to suit individual tastes. Colours, effects and the brightness level can be modified and defined for the two operating modes of the Mini-PC.

On the top edge of the front panel there is a “Turbo” button. This can be configured by software so that when the button is pushed the multiplier of Intel K-series processors is changed and additional computing power can thus be called up by overclocking.

“The stylised, illuminated X also confidently demonstrates the enormous system power outside the chassis,” says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “It quickly becomes apparent that the SZ270R9 is a real winner.”

The SZ270R9 relies on the tried-and-tested Intel Z270 chipset. Therefore it provides support for many current Intel processors for the LGA1151 socket and 64 GB of DDR4 memory. It has one slot with PCI Express x16 3.0 and one slot with PCI Express x4 3.0. For additional cards there are three M.2 slots, which can accommodate WLAN modules or drives, for example.

As with the models featuring the R8 design, the new R9 design also provides room for four 3.5″ hard disks and two NVMe or Optane SSDs. Thanks to RAID support, the drives can be switched to mode 0, 1, 5 or 10.

The network connections are also present in redundant form on the back because this Mini-PC boasts 2x Gigabit Ethernet.

Its 500 Watt power supply unit, which does of course also enable full expansion. For instance with an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, has 80 PLUS Silver certification indicating a high level of efficiency.

A short film about the product shows 360° views of the device and sheds light on key details: https://youtu.be/zbt8dkKZx30.

Accessories that are optionally available include a 2.5″ HDD/SSD drive holder (PHD3), serial interface (H-RS232) and WLAN/Bluetooth module (WLN-M).

43 millimetres: Mini-PC with HDMI 2.0 for latest Intel Core processors

Elmshorn, Germany, 2017-09-27 – with the DH270, thanks to the Intel H270 chipset, an HDMI 2.0 port now also features on Shuttle Mini-PCs for socket LGA 1151 desktop processors. However, the model presented here has more on offer and shows itself to be versatile at other places, too.

– 3x HDMI for triple-display operation
– 2x M.2, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x RS-232
– Remote power-on connection

The case design has proven to be successful since the DS61, the first model with dimensions of 19 x 16.5 x 4.3 cm (DWH). The space-saving steel chassis can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 50°C and, thanks to the VESA bracket and various threaded holes, it is also suitable for individual mounting options on screens and surfaces. The operating position is flexible and can be horizontal or vertical.

As well as offering space for one 2.5-inch drive and one NVMe SSD, the XPC Barebone DH270 also provides two SO-DIMM slots for up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory. Any Intel Core processors (LGA1151) from the seventh and sixth generation with up to 65 Watt TDP are suitable. There is a total of two M.2 slots on the mainboard, 1x M.2-2280 and 1x M.2-2230, which can be used for an SSD and WLAN module, for example.

With 1x HDMI 2.0 and 2x HDMI 1.4b, this model enables multi-screen workstations or digital signage scenarios with up to three 4K monitors (1x 60 Hz, 2x 30 Hz).

“Fluent 4K playback through HDMI with 60 images per second was previously only possible on models with a dedicated graphics card,” says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “Subsequent products, including those from the other model series, will likewise be equipped with HDMI 2.0 in the foreseeable future.”

There is one USB Type-C port on the front panel which debuts in the “XPC slim” product family. This port is horizontally symmetrical which means it is reversible, and you no longer have to think about the right way of plugging in a USB client device.

The other ports include 2x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, two serial interfaces and of course audio in- and outputs. A card reader for SD memory cards should also be mentioned.

Just like its predecessors, this Mini-PC also boasts a remote power-on connection on the back. This can be used to implement a second power button which enables the device to be operated even when set up in hard-to-access places.

Optional accessories comprise a 19-inch rack mount kit (PRM01), an M.2 WLAN/Bluetooth module incl. antennas (WLN-M), a VGA port (PVG01), a vertical stand (PS02) and a cable for connecting an external power button (CXP01).

The recommended retail price from Shuttle for the XPC Barebone DH270 is EUR 235.00 (excluding VAT). This model is available from specialist retailers Europe-wide upon publication of this press release.

SZ270R8: Powerful XPC cube supports Intel Optane technology

Elmshorn, Germany, 2017-08-31 – a new memory technology from Intel enables even shorter system and program starts. This now makes the XPC Barebone SZ270R8 from the XPC cubes series, which is now 16 years old, more agile than ever. With the Z270 chipset at its core, this newly presented Mini-PC can accommodate the latest Intel Core processors, modern dual-slot graphics cards, up to four hard drives and 64 GB of DDR4 memory.

– Provides space for four hard drives and two NVMe SSDs
– Three M.2 slots and Dual Gigabit Ethernet
– Also suitable for 28 cm dual-slot graphics cards

Intel Optane SSDs have particularly short response times and incredibly high IOPS rates. When one of these SSDs with 3D Xpoint memory is inserted into one of the M.2 slots, this makes the PC noticeably more responsive. Charging times are reduced still further, and the operating system and the programs installed start faster.

“The R8 chassis format provides the ideal basis for such technology,” says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “Memory capacity in the mid-double-digit terabyte range can be combined here with impressive access times.”

The mainboard offers three M.2 slots in total: 1x M.2-2230, for a WLAN module for example, and 2x M.2-2280 for data storage media with a PCIe interface.

The PCI Express x16 3.0 slot is available for modern graphics cards. The maximum length of the cards that can be used there (dual-slot or single-slot) is 28 cm. When a single-slot card is installed, the second PCI Express slot (x4-3.0) can also be used for example for a 10 Gbit network card or an RAID controller.

If one then also looks at the traditional PC attributes, the device also has 1x HDMI, 2x DisplayPort, 6x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0, 2x Gigabit Ethernet and audio connections. Four SATA connectors and just as many slots allow the installation of four 3.5” HDDs and therefore a memory capacity of well over 40 terabytes.

The R8 chassis with its dimensions of 33.2 x 21.6 x 19.8 cm (LWH) has been reinforced at various points and therefore provides increased protection for the components inside it during transportation and mobile use.

To ensure a reliable power supply, also when an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card is installed, for example, the SZ270R8 is equipped with a 500 Watt power supply unit.

Accessories that are optionally available include a 2.5″ HDD/SSD drive holder (PHD3), serial interface (H-RS232) and WLAN/Bluetooth module (WLN-M).

3-litre PC with slot for PCIe x16 expansion cards

Elmshorn, Germany, 2017-08-17 – the first 3-litre PC from Shuttle with a fully-fledged PCI Express x16 3.0 slot virtually spells the end of limitations. This is because almost any expansion card can now be fitted in the Mini-PC, which is only around 7 cm high. Computing power is delivered by new Intel Core processors of the 7th generation and the latest of storage and drive technology.

– Provides space for single-slot cards (e.g. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti)
– New Intel Core processors and 32 GB of DDR4 are supported

The XH110G model from the XPC slim category is a compact barebones PC in a 25 x 20 x 7.85 cm (DWH) format. Its mainboard with an Intel H110 chipset can accommodate up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory and Intel processors (LGA1151) with up to 65 W of TDP. Two M.2 slots, one being M.2-2280 and one M.2-2230, may for example accommodate an NVMe SSD and a WLAN module – or also lots of other commercially available M.2 add-on cards.

But the clou about this new XPC is its full-size PCI Express x16 3.0 slot. This is suitable for graphics cards or expansion cards with a x1 x16 connector (e.g. for multi-display graphics, 10 Gbit network, Thunderbolt, sound/video capture card, TV tuner, PCIe SSD and many more) in a single-slot format. To create enough space, the chassis has been modified on different ends, very subtly at first glance. The chassis cover now has ventilation openings and the space for the 2.5 inch hard disk/SSD has been moved to the bottom of the XH110G and can be accessed via a separate hatch.

Directly next to the hard disk/SSD there is a conventional USB port which can be utilised for example for dongles, theft-proof data storage media or add-ons such as wireless modules.

The front and rear side sport the familiar connectors: Audio, 1x HDMI, 1x VGA, 2x USB 3.0, 6x USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet.

“Not only PC gamers will be interested in the fact that here it is even possible to combine an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with a Core i7 processor and 32 GB of RAM,” says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “The XH110G also makes multi-display scenarios a reality or has the room for just the required expansion for a special project.”

To ensure that sufficient power can be supplied even when in top-spec configuration, the XH110G is supplied with a 180 Watt external power supply unit.

An active heatpipe cooling system with two smooth-running 6 cm fans is also present. This principle works both with the machine lying flat or standing upright. For mounting on walls and surfaces, a VESA mount is already included with the device. An appropriate stand is available separately.

A short film about the product shows 360° views of the device and sheds light on key details: https://youtu.be/6iy37hRRZd8

Optionally available accessories are a stand (PS01) and a WLAN kit (WLN-M).

The recommended retail price from Shuttle for the XH110G is EUR 231.00 (ex VAT). This model is available from specialist retailers Europe-wide upon publication of this press release.

Shuttle upgrades XPC nano models with Kaby Lake processors

Elmshorn, Germany, 06/07/2017 – As the third generation of the “XPC nano” series, which was originally introduced in 2015, four new models are now being added to the product range. The seventh generation of Intel Core processors (Kaby Lake) boosts the level of performance while simultaneously reducing the energy consumption once again.

– Higher performance, less energy consumption and DDR4 memory
– Barebone PCs with four different CPU versions available

The core components supplied with the NC03 barebone models are the chassis, mainboard, cooling system and the power supply unit. Choosing a model will also determine the particular processor, which is already soldered on the mainboard – either a Celeron, Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7. The base model NC03U features an Intel Celeron 3865U dual-core processor clocked at 2x 1.8 GHz. The tried-and-tested 14 nm architecture and power consumption of just 5 Watt in idle mode represent a particularly high level of energy efficiency.

Like the previous range of NC02 models, the chassis dimensions here are 141 x 141 x 42 mm and can accommodate one 2.5-inch drive with a maximum height of 15 mm. When undoing the two screws of the covers of the black chassis, space for the above mentioned 2.5-inch drive in the form of a high-capacity hard disk or SSD comes to light. Two SO-DIMM sockets can be fitted with up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory in total. In addition, one free M.2 expansion slot is available and, thanks to it being PCIe, it supports fast NVMe cards with a length of 80 mm. A second M.2 slot is already equipped with a WLAN module.

There is also a single-fan heatpipe cooling system working quietly inside. An external 65 W power supply unit provides all of the power.

A bootable SD card reader is part of the front panel and completes it together with one USB 3.0 Type A and C connector each.

Furthermore, the back panel boasts a DisplayPort connector, HDMI 1.4b, Gigabit Ethernet, USB and two perforations for WLAN antennas, if required. An RS-232 connector at the side is intended for commercial applications and further expands the possible fields of use of the NC03 series.

Fluent playback of ultra UD, 4K content (3840 x 2160 pixels) is possible right from the base model NC03U and happens at 60 Hz via DisplayPort, while it is 30 Hz for HDMI.

“The NC03 models now bring the seventh generation of Intel Core processors to our smallest devices and nearly complete the transition from Skylake to Kaby Lake throughout the product range,” explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH.

All versions can be operated in different positions; for example, standing upright with the aluminium stand or mounted to suitable surfaces and monitors using the VESA mount. Both the stand and VESA mount are included as standard.

Model overview

Shuttle shows off first fanless Mini-PCs based on Kaby Lake

Elmshorn, Germany, 02/06/2017 – Now that all Shuttle XPCs with socketed LGA 1151 processors are ready for Intel’s seventh generation of Core processors thanks to a BIOS update, the completely fanless DS77 series now follows. A total of four Mini-PC models with soldered processors are available ranging from energy-saving Celeron to powerful Core i7 processors.

– Up to three 4K monitors supported
– Room for up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory and two drives

As the successor to the DS67 range, the DS77U, DS77U3, DS77U5 and the DS77U7 are new additions to the product family of 1-litre PCs, compiled in the “XPC slim” category. The basic model is the DS77U, which is supplied as a barebones PC as standard, just like the other three models. The chassis, mainboard, cooling system and power supply unit are yet included as core components.

The DS77U is driven by an Intel Celeron 3865U dual-core processor (2 x 1.8 GHz) in 14 nm architecture. A power consumption of only 8 Watt in idle mode promises a low level of energy consumption with enhanced performance.

The DS77U is not only completely fanless and therefore operates virtually silently, but is also practically maintenance-free, because the passive cooling means that less dust gets inside through a fan. The DS77 series is therefore also suitable for continuous, 24/7 operation, if likewise approved drives are installed.

Once the two screws of the robust steel chassis are undone and the case covers removed, space for a 2.5-inch drive in the form of a hard disk or SSD and two SO-DIMM sockets emerge which can hold up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory in total. An M.2-2280 slot is available for additional, fast NVMe memory cards. A second M.2 slot is already equipped with a WLAN module.

With case dimensions of barely 20 x 3.95 x 16.5 cm (DWH), the back of the DS77U features two Intel Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and has 2x USB 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 1.4b as well as audio connections. Also on the back there is a multi-pole pin socket which can be used to start the device remotely e.g. in case of fixed installations in difficult to access places. On the front, a card reader, two USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, respectively, and two RS-232 interfaces complete the high connectivity. Windows 10 (64-bit) and Linux are suitable operating systems.

“The DS77 models are the first fanless machines to be added to our product family that support up to three high-resolution displays. 4K content is displayed via DisplayPort at 60 Hz and via HDMI at 30 Hz. We are targeting the DS77 range clearly at vertical markets where there is a specific need for attributes such as stability, durability and smoothness,” explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR for Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH.

The operating position is similarly flexible; the computers can be operated either standing upright using the supplied feet or mounted to suitable surfaces or monitors with the VESA mount which is also part of the delivery.

For the first time, the PRM01 rack mount kit (optionally available) allows two devices from the DS77 series (or machines with a similar case design) to be installed in a 19” rack.

The recommended retail price from Shuttle for the DS77U is 229.00 Euros, the DS77U3 can be purchased for 420 Euros, the DS77U5 is available at 530 Euros and the DS77U7 costs 679 Euros (all prices ex VAT). All models presented in this press release are available from specialist retailers Europe-wide as of now.

– Octa-Core ARM processor, 2 GB of memory and 16 GB of flash memory already installed

Both the NS02A and NS02E are supplied ready-to-connect and, as well as a soldered-on Rockchip RK3368 octa-core Cortex A53 64-bit processor, they feature 2 GB of DDR3L memory and 16 GB of flash memory. If more capacity is required, the internal 2.5-inch drive slot can be expanded with the PHD5 installation frame (available separately) to hold an additional SSD or hard disk. When it comes to the operating system, both models go with the reliable and widespread Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop).

The machines, which measure just 141 x 141 x 29 mm, do away with any fans at all, which not only makes them completely silent and very low-maintenance, but also suitable for continuous, 24/7 operation. Power consumption of just 4 Watt ensures a particularly high degree of energy efficiency.

The NS02A and NS02E differ in one essential aspect – the NS02E is provided without a power supply unit and obtains its power directly via PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) through the network into which it is integrated. By contrast, the NS02A is supplied with power in a conventional way via an external power supply unit.

Furthermore, on the back both models have HDMI 2.0, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet with WOL, audio and a Kensington lock. WLAN and Bluetooth are included as well. A card reader is part of the front panel and completes it with two USB ports.

Both models play ultra-high-resolution 4K content (3840 x 2160 pixels) at 60 Hz thanks to the PowerVR SGX6110 graphics processor and HDMI 2.0. This again reflects the field of application the NS02A and NS02E are intended for as mentioned in the introduction. The appropriate “DS Creator 2.0” software is yet included for this purpose.

Both models can be operated in any position. A VESA mount for monitor or wall mounting is part of the delivery.

“The real highlight of the models presented here is the bundled software and the machines’ features that are particularly relevant to digital signage such as scheduling or the always-on function,” explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “An app for iOS and a desktop application for Windows can be expected in the near future.”

The pre-installed “DS Creator 2.0” app can be used to play videos, images and text on the device. It is also suitable to create and edit projects directly on the device. However, for the best possible convenience, this app is also available for download for free from Google Play. This means that smartphones and tablets with an Android operating system get a fully-fledged editor with ready-to-use templates and easy operation. Once completed, projects can be sent via WLAN to one or more NS02A or NS02E devices.

The recommended retail price from Shuttle for the XPC nano Barebone NS02A is EUR 110.00, and for the NS02E it is EUR 120.00 (both prices ex VAT). The NS02A is available from specialist retailers Europe-wide upon publication of this press release. The NS02E is set to follow in May 2017.

Meet Shuttle at CeBIT 2017

In less than one month it will be time for the next instalment of the CeBIT trade fair in Hanover. Shuttle will once again be involved and in Hall 2 will be showcasing all the features of the XPC Mini-PCs and demonstrating what they are capable of in 2017. The show gets underway on 20 March 2017 and the world’s largest IT fair will continue the motto established in 2016. With the slogan “d!conomy: join – create – succeed”, visitors can look forward to five exciting exhibition days to explore all the new products and innovations that the IT world has to offer.

Big stage for space-saving Mini-PCs based on Intel Kaby Lake and fanless models for permanent operation

Shuttle, a long-standing exhibitor that has now displayed its products in each of the last seven years, will be unveiling the most important innovations for the coming business year alongside 4,000 other manufacturers and service providers from more than 70 countries. No fewer than 300,000 visitors are expected at the exhibition site.

This year you will again not need to search for long to find Shuttle – the world of Mini-PCs will be situated at Stand B43 in Hall 2.

Shuttle’s new products this year all revolve around the generation of processors from the Intel Kaby Lake series with 200 chipsets. The XPC Barebone SZ270R8P quickly secures the crown for performance here. As well as the fast Intel Z270 chipset, the SZ270R8P offers space for up to four 3.5-inch drives.

Intel’s latest processor generation is also finding its way into the 1 and 3-litre models of the “XPC slim” range. With the XH110G this offers a real innovation and is the highlight of the exhibition stand. It is possible for the first time also to install a single-slot graphics card from AMD or NVIDIA into a Shuttle 3-litre chassis.

Shuttle’s smallest barebone PCs to date, those from the “XPC nano” model range launched in 2015, are also receiving a Kaby Lake update. This makes them not just faster, but more energy-saving at the same time.

Emphasising Shuttle’s focus on vertical markets, new, robust digital signage media players for driving high-resolution screens at the POS and POI are being presented. The NS02E and NS02A from the “XPC nano” range are not only extremely space-saving and fanless but, thanks to the Android operating system, also represent an extremely inexpensive platform. In addition, it is supplied with free digital signage software and apps for mobile use.

A new XPC from the “all-in-one” range also makes a strong impression. The fanless X50V6, which was designed specifically for the B2B sector and applications at the POI/POS, featuring a mobile Kaby Lake processor and an IP54-graded, splashproof and dustproof front, breathes fresh life into this product line.

All the solutions presented by Shuttle continue the familiar concept that has made it famous and for which it has received multiple awards around the globe – high quality standards, versatility, robustness, compactness and easy set-up.
